Private Label Movement

Dan Meadors Selling Wholesale on Amazon

EPISODE OVERVIEW

Kevin Rizer welcomes Dan Meadors to Private Label Podcast. Dan has been a seller on Amazon for many years but has made over $8 million selling wholesale on Amazon!

Getting Started

Bobby started with retail arbitrage in 2011. He went into big box stores, bought low and sold high online. He did really well but the income was a direct result of the time they put in. In 2014 he wanted to transition away from the daily "job" of retail arbitrage and find something that was more of an actual business.

Wholesale

Selling wholesale is to purchase directly from brand owners and sell their products directly on Amazon. In 2013, Dan went from $960,000 in retail arbitrage sales to $3.9 million in 2015 selling 100% wholesale.

Why the need for Wholesale?

The manufacturers realizes they are not a retailer. Wholesalers have the skill set that the manufacturers don't have and do not want to have. Dan has the skills to sell and market effectively to create more opportunities to sell. Brand owners are looking for the best brand exposure they can get.

Product Selection

Just like private label selling, Dan looks at Amazon first. He has a base criteria he looks for. He wants products that move volumes of 99 or more per month.
