3 Big Lessons from AmzCon and Private Label Days (2017)
Kevin had a wonderful time at the AmzCon and Private Label Days in Bonn, Germany. In this episode, he shares the 3 key takeaways from the event. Are there opportunities to step into, and what do the changes call sellers to do? Tune in!
Fun at the Conference
Kevin did not hesitate to speak in the conference. It was his first time to speak in Europe, and many other speakers have already agreed. Also, he is always up for a good party and fun location.
“Conferences are one of the best ways to expand your horizons and to expand your mindset to grow your business.” -Kevin Rizer
He had a wonderful time networking in a castle, chatting on a boat with the other speakers, and just spending time talking about Amazon and selling physical products online.
Lesson 1: Europe is WIDE Open
The first thing that Kevin learned in the conference is this: Europe is wide open. He already knew about it but just kept pushing his plans. But now, he is excited to accelerate those plans and be live in the European marketplace.
“Europe is absolutely wide open. It’s like going back in time 6 or 7 years ago in Amazon.com.” -Kevin Rizer
The marketplace is note yet saturated. There are many product categories and specific products that are just waiting to be filled. Kevin will talk about this some other time.
Lesson 2: Adapt to Survive
The second thing he learned is the need to adapt in order to survive. Kevin was the first speaker on Saturday, and that allowed him to relax and enjoy the rest of the conference.
He enjoyed listening to the other conference speakers, such as Chris Rawlings and Brian Burt. He realized how content has changed from the time he was selling 3 years ago.
