Behind the Scenes of a Rebrand #3
Meet Karen Hardie on today’s episode. The Private Label Movement would not have become possible without her. Here she takes you through the process of the rebrand, and shares the importance of having the right people and the right strategy.
The Right People in Place
Karen is among the key contributors of Private Label Movement. As the Chief Operating Officer, she helped pull in the right team for the rebrand.
“A rebrand is not a one man or one woman job.” -Karen Hardie
For her, it’s important to have the right elements in place. This includes having the right people who can manage, design, and perform other critical functions.
Two Things to Start With
There were mainly two things that they knew they needed at the start: organizers and designers. It’s important to have someone who can help you sort your ideas. This includes clarifying the goals and intentions of your rebrand.
“Why rebrand now? Are you just rebranding for the sake of rebranding?” -Karen Hardie
The team did their best on applying an effective strategy and getting clear on what they want. Thankfully, the design team were also there to ensure both usability and aesthetics.
A Perfect Match
Karen emphasizes the need to take a step back and knowing what they exactly want. In this case, Private Label Movement needed experienced individuals.
“We started by trying to find somebody who understood small businesses as well as big businesses.” -Karen Hardie
They got the right balance they needed in the team. Personality is a key factor in making the right fit for each other.
