Behind the Scenes of a Rebrand #2

Behind the Scenes of a Rebrand #2

In this second part of our series “Behind the Scenes of a Rebrand”, Kevin outlines the 8 distinct steps taken in the planning and implementation of the change to Private Label Movement.

The Decision to Rebrand

Last week, Kevin shared the story of how Private Label Movement started. He expresses his thanks to the more than 10,000 people who tuned in to the first 3 episodes. He hopes that you can use these 8 steps as a blueprint to your own rebranding.

Making the decision is the first step in the process. You can’t start a journey until you know it’s necessary. For Private Label Movement, the decision became clear in August 2016.

The Scope of the Rebrand

The second step is to determine the scope of the rebrand. Ask yourself what you want to change. Do you want to change the name, the format, or the logo?

For Kevin, this step started in August until late October. He sought insights from people who eventually became part of the Private Label Movement team. In the end, he decided to change everything except the commitment they have for the listeners.

Assembling the Team

The third step started in October and ended in January. It involved assembling the team. That time, they looked for designers, editors, and everyone else who can help in realizing the rebrand.

This is great! I am building a brand and struggling with the juggling of it all. This podcast has helped me to categorize and find people to help and get out of my own head. Our website is under construction and not going well.
